Weaving has a long tradition on Denman Island. The Old School was acquired for use by the Denman community in 1994, coinciding with the formation of the Denman Spinners & Weavers group. It has become a major centre of activity housing the Freestore and Recycling centre. The two classrooms have been occupied for the past 30 years by the Denman Conservancy and the Spinners and Weavers group respectively. The very popular Farmer’s Market is held Saturdays in the field.
