Also 6 photocopied pages from “My Ain Folk” highlighting the relationship of the Henderson family to Komas Ranch.

SAMUEL J. DUMARESQ fonds–1996 – 30 pp. photocopied
(A.19.10) – Loc.A-H-9 – Book – Our Story is a photocopy of a 30pp. book written by Samuel Dumaresq and published by Split-Cedar Press in 1996 in British Columbia.
It is a family history of the Dumaresq family who owned the Quarry on Denman in 1908 and logging operations after that.
It was given to the Archives by Maureen Wheeler (Dumaresq)
SHEILA NOPPER fonds–2006 – one CD
This fonds contains one item: (A.18.42) – Loc.A-F-4 – Storm Stories is an audio CD of interviews with Denman residents about the aftermath of the large storm in late 2006. Wind gusts on Chrome Island were recorded at 168 km. per hour and many large trees on the island were toppled. Power was out for about a week and a number of structures sustained damage.
SOREN JENSEN SORENSEN fonds–1948-1960 – 1.0 cm. photo album
(A.18.12) – Loc.A-F-4 – Soren Jensen Sorensen Photos is a small (12×16 cm.) album of photos of Soren Sorensen’s farm in 1948 as well as photos of his family from earlier and later and of ferries. There are 22 photos in all
It also contains a brief genealogy, a postcard and a flash drive which contains the same material. Soren Sorensen lived on Denman at the bottom of the big hill from the 1930’s to the 1960’s.
The album was donated to the Denman Museum by Lisa Sorensen, a grand niece of Soren, in 2015.
WINNIE ISBISTER (BAIKIE) fonds–1910-1979 – 1.0cm. photo album and 100 postcards
This fonds contains 3 items. (A.19.05) – Loc.A-F-5 is a 30 pp. photo album containing 95 postcards collected by Winnie when she was a teenager around 1914. Scenes are from the Orkney Islands, Canada, the United States and Christmas.
The album came from Hazel Kelly, Winnie’s daughter through Linda Schmidt.
(A.19.06) – Loc.A-P-1 is 60 loose postcards all addressed to Winnie Baikie, many having written messages. They date from around 1910, but only about half have postage. Most are from family members and are scenes from Canada, the U.S., Europe and Christmas.
(A.19.07) – Loc.A-P-1 is 45 loose postcards all addressed to Mrs. William Baikie (Lena), Winnie’s mother from 1907 to 1912. Twelve are from William Baikie’s trip to the Orkneys, the rest from family members with images of Canada, the U.S., Japan, and Europe.
LACON FAMILY fonds–1909-1945 – 2.0cm. diary plus transcript and 4 photo albums
This fonds contains 6 items. (A.22.01) – Loc.A-F-4 is 150 pp. leather bound diary/journal of Cyril Lacon’s covering parts of 1909-1910 in West Africa when he was a magistrate and the winter, spring of 1912-1913 on Denman Island. The diary was donated and transcribed by Peter Austin in 2021.
(A.22.02) – Loc.A-H-11 is the 40 pp. transcription of the above diary (A.22.01) done by Peter Austin
(A.23.18.a) – Loc. A-F-6 is a photo album with 84 small b/w photos of WW II British warships, their guns and planes. Also the palace in Sintra Portugal. It belonged to Chug Lacon, the commander and was donated by Mike Davidson, a stepson.
(A.23.18.b) – Loc. A-F-6 is a photo album with 52 small b/w photos of summer cabins on Horseshoe Island near the River Severn in Ontario, I believe, even though the album is titled “the Lacon Family in Britain” The album appears to have been C. (Cyril) Lacon’s, Chug’s uncle.
(A.23.18.c) – Loc. A-F-6 is a photo album of 100 b/w photos of the Lacon family in England and appears to date from about 1908. Some may be in Canada. The album probably belonged to Cyril Lacon.
(A.23.18.d) – Loc. A-F-6 is a photo album od approx.. 200 b/w photos and a few news clippings and cards. Photos of – Lacon properties in England – Cyril Lacon’s time in Nigeria 1909 – Denman Island house building 1911 to 1913 – Oxford 1906 to 1907 – WW I France Belg. 1914 to 1918 – Denman 1919 to 1921.

(A.23.27) – Loc.A-H-21 – Lindsay-Dickson Jodhpurs is 1 page of notes on the Lindsay-Dickson family and a link to ‘Angler’s Paradise’.
(A.19.17) – Loc.A-H-9 – “An Angler’s Paradise – Sportfishing and Settler Society” 1860’s – 1920’s is a 21 pp. academic paper by Dianna Pederson recounting the history of Dr. F. Lindsay-Dickson’s passion for sportfishing on Vancouver Island. Included are 13 photos.
