DENMAN ISLAND RECREATION AND COMMUNITY SOCIETY (DIRCS) fonds – 19 ? – present – 85 photos

DIRCS is the organization which oversees the operation of the Community hall and the surrounding playground and sports field.

(A.18.66) – Loc.A-F-4  –  Community Hall Renovation is a series of 85 photos of the 1989 renovation of the community hall and the associated fundraising. There are 13 b/w and 72 colour photos 7.5×12.5 cm. and one printed program from a fundraiser, a Scrooge play.

The photos were donated by Denise Mckeen.

(A.18.118) – Loc.A-F-4  –  Community Hall Photos is 16 b/w 4”x6” reprints of photos plus negs. of the reconstruction of the Community Hall in 1989 taken by Brian Grogan.

(A.25.01) – Loc.A-H-22  –  DIRCS – Ralph McQuaig is a file of 28 pp. containing copies of material created for the reopening of the Community Hall in Oct. 2012 after major renovations. It includes the history of the hall and scanned BC Archives photos of Denman not in the Denman Archives collection. Also the opening program and scans of 2 original share certificates of Hall ownership, 1914, when the hall was a private undertaking by some Denman residents. The file was produced by Ralph and donated by his partner Margie Gang.
